Prof William Watson.

Prof. William Watson, BSc PhD, Is Full Professor of Cancer Biology in the UCD School of Medicine, Head of Pathology and Director of the Biomedical, Health and Life Science BSc honours degree. As a translational cancer biologist based in the Conway Institute, he utilises the latest technologies to identify diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in early stage Prostate Cancer which will impact on patients outcomes.

He leads the multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Research Consortium (PCRC) of scientists and clinicians addressing clinically relevant dilemmas and represents a network to implement solutions into clinical practice.

He has received funding from national and international funding bodies including – Science Foundation Ireland, the Health Research Board, Enterprise Ireland, Irish Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Foundation and Movember. He has a H-index of 55 publishing in peer reviewed journals including European Urology, Cancers, BJU International, Oncotarget, Molecular Oncology.
