Ms Catherine Dowling commenced practice as a consultant urologist at University Hospital Galway in late 2015. A graduate of UCD in 2002, she completed her basic surgical training in Dublin after which she undertook two years of laboratory research publishing an MD thesis in Prostate Cancer in The Conway Institute UCD under the supervision of Professor John Fitzpatrick.. She completed specialist urology training in Ireland followed by a two year SUO-accredited fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Her areas of expertise include urological cancers, laparoscopic and robotic surgery and general urology.
