Prof Niall Swan

Professor Niall Swan is a Consultant Histopathologist at St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) and Clinical Professor at University College Dublin (UCD) School of Medicine. He has subspecialty interests in Genitourinary and Pancreatic-Hepatobiliary Pathology. Niall is a 1991 RCSI medical school graduate who completed his histopathology training in Boston and was subsequently appointed to the faculty and staff at the Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center.

He returned to Ireland to a Consultant Histopathologist post at Tallaght University Hospital in 2003 before moving to his current position in SVUH in 2011. He is the National Speciality Director for Histopathology post-graduate training in the Faculty of Pathology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
